Founded in 2015, Legends started out as a small organisation of locals running the original Legends of Bruges Free Walking Tour. Since then, Legends have become the number 1 walking tour company in Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp with a network of passionate local guides in each city. Every day, our team of volunteers run our popular free day and evening tours in several different languages on the basis of tips, which allows you to donate whatever you like to the guide and ensures that everyone can enjoy a quality tour, no matter the budget. You can also book the Legends for a private tour, teambuilding and other fun organised activities including chocolate demonstrations, brewery visits or beer tastings. 

The aim of our organisation is to provide a stage for enthusiastic storytellers who love to show their city and to improve the contact between locals and visitors. We also aim to support local businesses by creating a partnership with craft shops that sell handmade and local products. For this purpose, we have created the app Beyond Bruges, which allows users to obtain information about historical landmarks in Bruges and travel back to the Middle Ages through 3D models and augmented reality. By using the app, you can earn credits for every purchase you make at local, artisanal stores. You can then spend those credits, called Bryghia, to unlock information, 3D models, a quiz game and other features within the app, as well as to purchase some cool items, such as a book or a Legends beer in a bar.

A lot of local businesses are already participating in this concept and the intention is to use our application to stimulate the development of a fully-fledged, Bruges city currency that not only strengthens local trade, but also encourages participatory citizenship and supports green investments.
